For over 20 years I have been working with students and young people in Northern California. On a good weekend, about 2% of our county will find themselves in a church. This means that there is no Christian culture, no Christian story, no Christian values. This is where God has planted me and where I have cut my teeth.
I am called to be a pastor in the local church and am honored to have Marin Covenant Church be my home. I am on a committed and talented staff and work hard alongside my colleagues to be cross-cultural missionaries.
For the last decade I have been actively writing, teaching, training and presenting on a whole host of topics. I am thankful of the unique place that God has called me, and am looking forward to being in increased communication with others as they come to realize how Post-Christian our context is becoming and what an exciting opportunity it is for ministry!
I graduated from Bethel Seminary with my Masters of Divinity and am Ordained to Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Church. I am married to my precious and amazing wife Katie, and together we are attempting to raise their two kids to love Jesus, life, and baseball. I also write here, on my other blog, averageyouthministry.com, and have authored three books, Holy Parenting and Average Youth Ministry, and From the Pen to the Palace.
